Successful Networking Meeting Held in Derry, N.H.

Thursday, June 16, 2022

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, SFNE held a Spring Networking Meeting and New Hampshire Legislative Victory at LaBelle Winery in Derry, New Hampshire.

Over 100 fabricators, trade associates, legislators, and partners attended to celebrate SFNE’s Buy American Legislative Victory in New Hampshire, receive updates on our Buy American Efforts in Massachusetts, and learn what to expect industry-wide from Brian Raff’s Economic Forecast. Key takeaways from the discussion and presentations included:

  • New Hampshire’s Buy American legislation, HB1503, is expected to be signed by Governor Sununu at Capone Iron Corporation on Monday, June 27, 2022. More information will be available in the coming days.

  • S2546, the Massachusetts’ Buy American legislation, is still in the Joint Committee on Regulatory Oversight and State Administration. With the legislative session in Massachusetts wrapping up at the end of July, there will be updates and action items coming soon.

  • There is positive momentum in the construction market. After a decline in overall construction during COVID-19 shutdowns, the industry has rebounded to a level above pre-Pandemic levels. Even though material prices have climbed, it is important to recognize that all material prices have climbed making buildings more costly overall no matter what they are made of.

  • Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 20, 2022! SFNE will be holding a Networking Event and Facility Tour at Capone Iron Corporation in Rowley, Massachusetts. More information will be available in the coming month.

SFNE is looking forward to continuing this forward momentum in the legislative arena while expanding efforts further into New England! Thank you to those who have supported these efforts thus far!

Thank you to our networking meeting sponsors!
