AISC enters the final phase of the ongoing investigations on unfairly traded imports of fabricated structural steel from China, Canada, and Mexico.
As you may be aware, we are entering the final phase of the ongoing investigations on unfairly traded imports of fabricated structural steel from China, Canada, and Mexico (which were initiated based on petitions filed by AISC in February 2019). As part of this process, yesterday, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) issued the official U.S. Producer Questionnaire, which you may have received directly from the ITC via e-mail.
It’s very important that you complete the questionnaire and return it to AISC’s trade counsel, Wiley Rein LLP, at the contact information below as soon as possible but no later than COB Friday, October 25.
Here’s why your participation in completing this questionnaire is vital to the success of the case:
In its preliminary determination, the ITC indicated that industry participation will be important to support an affirmative final injury determination — more responses are needed in this final phase!
Please note the following key points regarding your participation:
- All companies are highly encouraged to file a questionnaire response, whether or not you receive one from the ITC.
- Your responses will be kept strictly confidential by the ITC and will not be disclosed to AISC or the public.
- Smaller companies (i.e., production of less than 5,000 tons per year) may choose to complete a shortened version of the questionnaire (Parts I-III). See special instructions on page 6 of the questionnaire.
- Attorneys at Wiley Rein LLP are available (at no cost to you) to help any AISC member company in completing and filing the questionnaire. Wiley Rein Contact Information:
